Reflections!

Last weekend we headed down south. Eric had a soccer tournament in Mesquite and I was staying with my Grandma for a night so my Mom could get away for her birthday. I'll blog about Eric's tournament as soon as I find a picture of him. As I talked to my Grandma I felt so sad for her. She misses my Grandpa so much. She would like nothing more than to be with him. It is so hard to see the sadness she feels. I loved my time with her. My Mom is incredible with all the things she does for her. I am so proud of my Mom once again.

While in Cedar City one of Katy's good friends from high school who is also going to SUU was baptized. We went to her baptism on Saturday and I have to say I have not been to a baptism where I felt the spirit so much. It was fabulous to see how happy she was. Then Katy and I headed home in a snow storm because the next morning was our best friends son Alex's missionary farewell. I am a little tired of driving in snow storms this winter. The picture above is a picture of Alex on his graduation. It has been so wonderful to watch Alex grow up. He is 5 months younger than Katy so they have basically grown up as cousins. He gave a wonderful farewell talk and Katy couldn't stop crying. Alex has been a great example and I am so proud of him. The people of Switzerland are going to love that boy!

As I reflected on the weekend I thought about how life changes. I have watched my Grandma grow into an elderly woman. She's been an example of everything good to me. She's taught me what it means to be a wife and mother. I see her getting tired and is ready to return home with our Heavenly Father.

I watched Marla come into the church as just a new member ready to learn and grow. She's always been such a good friend to Katy and I am glad Katy has been the same to her.

Alex, I was there the day he was born. I've watched him all through his life growing and maturing. I kept thinking about how hard it will be for his family to have him gone for two years. What changes will take place while he's away.

Life is interesting...there is so much to learn from every stage of life. I am grateful for all the experiences that influence my life.
